NEILSON: The death of Bruce Neilson, beloved husband of Mavis, occurred in the city on Saturday, July 16, 2005. Bruce Duthie Neilson was born March 30, 1949, the fourth child of George and Joan Neilson. In his younger years he was an awesome skier and baseball player. Bruce was the most generous and fairest man you would ever meet. He never had a harsh word to say about anyone and there was always the bright side to see. He always loved to have his dogs by his side, and loved to play with grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They would put a sparkle in his eye. Bruce lived his life very quietly, but was happy doing so. Bruce was predeceased by; his father George; mother Joan; brother Chas; sister Evelyn and mother-in-law Eunice. He leaves behind his loving wife Mavis; daughter Connie and grandchildren Chase, Draven; son Tony Roy (Paula); grandson Austin; brothers Jim, Bob (Bunny), Larry (Marie) and Ernie; sisters Gloria (Sam), Gerry, Sherrie (Ray); Penny (Paul), Carrie-Ann (Barry). Also surviving are father-in-law Jim Foord and numerous nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, July 21 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Pat Stelmack will officiate. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Bruce to the Westman Dreams for Kids Foundation, 1604 Moreland Avenue, Brandon, MB R7C 1A6 or to a charity of choice.
