Obituary

TURTON: Brittney Lynn (Lynn) Turton passed away in Brandon on July 21, 2005. Lynn was born on August 1, 1961 in Brandon, daughter of Jessie and Cliff Turton. Lynn attended kindergarten and grade 6 at George Fitton Elementary. She took part in after-school music and dance, during grade 5 & 6. She was a patrol and supervised the kindergarten class recesses. She attended grade 7 at McLaren, where she took part in the drama/music club and also enjoyed after school curling. Lynn then attended grade 8 and 9 at Harrison Junior High and was involved in curling. High school was at Crocus Plains Regional High School, where she was involved in curling and field hockey. Lynn also took part in classes at the YMCA, batons and guitar and took part in the Roseland 4-H from the age of 11 years to age 17 years. Lynn was an active person in the work force. She was involved at the Brandon Allied Arts Centre, ACC, Dunwoody, CDA, Cambrian Business College, Child and Family Services, H&R Block, The Royal Purple of Canada (Executive Director), The Kidney Foundation (fund-raiser/ Office Manager) and 4-H. She is survived by; her parents and younger sister, Heather Dickson (husband Dean and two terrific nephews, Jeffery and Derek). Lynn also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her beloved cat "Buddy". She will be greatly missed and remembered by all. Lynn was always putting others ahead of herself and was willing to do everything she could to make others happy. She had a love for animals, especially cats, and children. Her nephews were a great joy to her and her to them. She had a great sense of humor, with quick comments and comebacks. She enjoyed many camping trips and winter holidays with family. She enjoyed her trips to BC on her own, to visit her cousin. She had a short but full life. A special thank you to the staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, especially the doctors and nurses at I.C.U. and on the 4th floor. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Central United Church on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. The Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiated. Interment followed in the Brandon cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
