MACHTALER: Suddenly, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in the R.M. of Grey, Manitoba, Brian Darryl Machtaler was killed in a motor vehicle accident while on his way home from work. Brian was born on July 12, 1982 at the Brandon General Hospital. Brian attended O'Kelly Elementary. He then attended Crocus Plains, where he excelled at welding, mechanics and was the captain line backer of the football team. Brian's passions in life were fishing, farming, animals, and spending time with his family. In his younger years, Brian was a member of the Manitoba Poultry and Pet Stock Associations, and the Manitoba Rabbit Association. He spent many hours helping care for the animals in local fairs as well as participating in showing the small animals he raised on his family's farm in the R.M. of Cornwallis. Brian met and later married Genienne Crompton on October 15, 2005 in Starbuck, Manitoba, where he resided until his untimely death. Brian is survived by his wife Genienne; mother Susan (Robert Dufresne); sisters Crystal (Aaron), Katie (Kyle); brothers Steven and Alex; mother and father-in-law Jack and Margaret Crompton. Brian was predeceased by his father Robert Machtaler, June 2, 1996 and his sister Amber Machtaler October 6, 1989.
