HAMILTON: Brian Douglas Hamilton passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 13, 2007. Brian was born on January 1, 1960 to Kelvey and Marie (Jeffers) Hamilton at the Toronto General Hospital. Brian had an extremely strong will to live and a good sense of humor that carried him through many adversities in his life. Brian received his schooling in the Toronto area and was a Grade A student. His school marks got him chosen as a Parliamentary Page Boy in the Ontario Government when Bill Davis was the Premier of Ontario. In his early teens he started building "motorcycles in a basket" and rebuilding old cars. He continued to enjoy this passion until the very end. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, and lacrosse. Brian moved to Moosomin, Saskatchewan in 1978 with his parents. He was employed in Regina, Saskatchewan until the early 80's and at this time had to go on dialysis. In 1984, he received a kidney from his brother, Gary. He moved to Kelowna, British Columbia for five years, then moved back to Regina. In October 2005, he finally succumbed to the effects of kidney disease and in January 2006 he was transferred to Brandon Hospital to be close to his family. Brian was predeceased by his paternal grandparents William and Molly (McFarland) Hamilton, his maternal grandparents Oliver and Jean (Barnard) Jeffers; nephew Garry, who passed away in Toronto, August 1997; uncles and aunts in Ireland, England, and New Zealand. He is survived by his parents Kelvey and Marie Hamilton; brother Gary (Shiela) and Christopher; brother Robin (Shelley), Jesse and his goddaughter Tia; brother Raymond (Stacey), Dylan and Emily. A come and go memorial reception to celebrate Brian's life was held at Memories Chapel, on Friday, August 17, 2007. 1960 - 2007
The Hamilton family would like to thank Dr. Riche, and all of the wonderful staff of the renal unit, ICU, the second and third floor of the Assiniboine Centre for caring for Brian on his long hospital stay. Brian made some very special friendships with the hospital staff, enjoyed their company and the excellent care they gave him. Thank - you to the many friends that visited Brian and especially Ken Martens and Hank Loewen, from the Christian Motorcycle Association, for their friendship and prayers. We would also like to thank everyone who expressed their condolences with cards, flowers, food and donations in Brian's memory.
