Betty Anne Marie Barkwell of Brandon, passed away peacefully in Brandon on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in her 84th year. Left behind with precious memories are her two daughters: Janie (Paul) Sawyer and children, Nicole (Brian) Desjarlais, Janelle (Bill) Jones and great grandson Cade Desjarlais; Fay Fenton and children, Devon and Raelle. She is also survived by her sister, Ruby MacLaurin of Oakville, ON and sister-in-law, Joy Barkwell of Virden. Betty was predeceased by her husband Orval. The funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. All attending the ceremony will be considered honorary pallbearers. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Betty to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
