SOKOLAN: The death of Bert Sokolan of Brandon, occurred on Monday, March 15, 2004 in the city. The Graveside Service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium on Friday, March 19, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. David Howell of Central United Church will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. SOKOLAN: It is with great sorrow that the family of Bert Sokolan of Brandon announce his passing on Monday, March 15, 2004 at the Assiniboine Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Bert was born in the R.M. of Rossburn in 1933. He worked his early years with C.P.R. and then at Manitoba Hydro for 34 years until retirement. Bert loved the outdoors feeding the birds, camping and fishing, he even took up golfing. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Bert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty; beloved daughter, Debbie (Ken) and precious grandson, Brett. He is also survived by: two brothers; two sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Graveside Service was held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium on Friday, March 19, 2004.
