Bernice Emma Grant, wife of Weldon Grant, passed away at her residence, Fairview Home on Sunday, March 14, 1999. Bernice was born August 31, 1913 at Estlin, Saskatchewan. She was raised on a farm and at an early age lost her mother. She helped take care of her sister and two brothers. Bernice received her education at Gray, Saskatchewan, then later at Normal School in Evanston, Illinois. She taught in Saskatchewean, then on the west coast in the Queen Charlotte Islands with native children. She became a missionary with the United Church and taught in Trinidad. Bernice was an active member of the U.C.W. Her love of children, birds and gardening will always be remembered. She is survived by her husband John Weldon Grant, daughter, Susan and sons, Charles and Dan. Bernice was predeceased by her sister, Helen and brothers, Harvey and Leroy. The funeral ceremony was held at Memories Chapel 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Lydia Glawson of Knox United Church officiated.
