Obituary

The death of Benjamin Baker of Brandon and formerly of Douglas, Manitoba occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, July 20, 2002. Ben was born in Brandon on July 4, 1945 and was raised on a farm in the Douglas district. He attended school at Douglas and completed school at Elton Collegiate. Ben was employed at Simplot in maintenance. He later was an owner/operator of the Rivers Taxi and Imperial Taxi in Brandon. He drove livestock for P.Quintain for some time. Ben's early years were spent involved in the sport of baseball. He played for many different teams and leagues. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children; Sherry (Tony) Almeida, Wesley (Tanja) Baker, Darrin (Tina) Baker, Cory Baker, Crysta Baker (Jeff Grove) and Jennifer Baker. There are three brothers and three sisters. He was predeceased by his parents, C.O. Baker and Theresa. The Ceremony to Celebrate Ben's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow in the Madford Cemetery, Douglas.
