Obituary

WELLS: Beatrice Annie Wells passed away peacefully at Central Park Lodge in Brandon on Tuesday, November 11, 2003. Her husband Charles predeceased Beatrice in 2001. She was born October 2nd, 1916 at Kisby, Saskatchewan, the third daughter born, in a family of seven girls and six boys, to Ernest and Gladys Ardron. Beatrice was raised and educated at Douglas, Manitoba. On October 9th, 1937 Beatrice married Charles Wells from Brandon and they moved to Rapid City, Manitoba where they farmed for six years before they moved to Fleming, Saskatchewan where they continued to farm for 26 years. In this union they had two sons, Barry Charles, predeceased in infancy and Ernest Alfred. In 1973 they retired and moved to Brandon, Manitoba, spending their summers in Brandon and winters in Weslaco, Texas. During their winters they made many lasting friendships. Beatrice was a member of the L.O.B.A. for 52 years, joining at Kirkella and then transferring to Brandon and later to Minnedosa. She was the Grand Mistress from 1959 - 1961.Beatrice was a loving wife who worked beside her husband in all their farming endeavors. She took great pride in cooking meals and keeping their home immaculate. Her hobbies were gardening, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, shuffleboard and watching her favorite ball or curling team on television. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Charlie, infant son Barry, father and mother, sister Vi, brothers Roy, Bush and Reg and many sisters and brothers-in-law. Beatrice is survived by her son Ernest (Faye) of Moosomin, Saskatchewan; grandchildren and great grandchildren Brad (Jackie), Kyle and Taylor of Brandon, Bryan (Jenny), Ashley, Charlie and Logan of Glen Falls, New York, Melanie (Stuart) Goranson, Thomas and Kate of Weyburn, Saskatchewan and numerous brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. The Graveside Funeral Service for the late Beatrice and Charles Wells was held at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Friday, July 23, 2004.
