BATOR: Suddenly on Monday, November 5, 2007, Barry John Bator passed away at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Doyia and families at his side. Barry was born on January 20, 1957 at the Ethelbert Hospital to Walter and Olesia (nee Bilous) Bator. After graduating from grade twelve in 1975, he moved to Brandon, Manitoba. While living there, Barry worked for the CN Rail as a machine operator and then switched over to CP Rail where he was employed as a brakeman and conductor. After several years of railroading, Barry completed an electronics course at Assiniboine College in Brandon. This enabled him to get a job with Westman Cable where he installed cable TV. In 1990, Barry left Westman and joined MTS. During his seventeen years with MTS, Barry worked throughout Manitoba and as far away as San Francisco, California. He transferred to Winnipeg with MTS four years ago. Barry was predeceased by his sisters Sandra and Christina and his parents Walter and Olesia Bator. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his partner of seven years, Doyia Fluker of Winnipeg, Manitoba; five sisters and three brothers: Valerie (Miles) Sawchuk of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Lorraine (Bill) Ormonde of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Judy (Joe Palma) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sally (Mervin) Luke of Rorkton, Manitoba, Josephine (Glen) Yanchycki of The Pas, Manitoba, Ken (Debbie) Bator of Ile de Chenes, Manitoba, Michael (Gerry) Bator of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, Christopher Bator of Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews. Barry will also be dearly missed by Doyia's father Bud (Lorraine) Fluker of Brandon; brother Dwayne (Cathy) Fluker of Brandon; sister Patsy (Jerry) Dousselaere of Cartwright, Manitoba; stepbrother Bradley (Jackie) and their daughter Carla Anderson of Virden, Manitoba and nieces and nephews. Prayers were offered on Friday, November 9, 2007 at Memories Chapel, Brandon. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, on Saturday, November 10, 2007. Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Raju Madanu. Eulogy was given by Ken Bator and Scriptures were read by Michael Bator and Bill Ormonde. Pallbearers were Grant Ewen, Darryl Kuby, Michael Plesiuk, Bob Kotyk, Bob Frost, and Bill Old. Interment was in the Ethelbert Roman Catholic Cemetery.
