Obituary

Barbara Joan LeBlanc of Brandon passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, December 18, 1999. Barbara was born on January 1, 1958 in Deloraine, Manitoba. She started school in Kelwood, Manitoba and later graduated from Cartwright Collegiate. Following school, she started to work for Great West Life and then was employed with C.I.B.C. where she received many promotions through various transfers. The company transferred her to Brandon to be a personal banking representative. Barbara furthered her education by taking various C.I.B.C. courses including Mutual Funds and Financial Planning. She was involved with numerous figure skating clubs, Brandon Curling Club and was a supporter and "Hockey Mom" of the Brandon Youth Hockey Association. Barbara was very sports oriented and enjoyed curling, golfing, skating, playing hockey, water skiing and many other activities. She will be fondly remembered as a friendly, outgoing and caring individual. Barbara is survived by her husband Marv; sons Derek and Devon; mother, Dorothy and step-father George Weidenhamer; brothers: Wayne, Bob, Marlin and Michael. She was predeceased by her father and two brothers Tom and Lynn. The Ceremony to Celebrate Barbara's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at 2:00 pm. Friends who wish may make a donation in Barb's memory to either the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Chad Silver Memorial Fund or to a trust fund for Derek and Devon LeBlanc, c/o C.I.B.C., 8th Street & Rosser Ave. Brandon. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
