Obituary

The death of Barbara Kelly of Fairview Home, Brandon, formerly of Gladstone and Roblin, occurred at her residence on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Barbara was born at Neepawa, Manitoba on December 9, 1923, daughter of Jean and Albert Sneesby. Barbara received her education at Glenholm, Winchester and Arden schools. She married Mervyn Kelly on April 13, 1946. They moved to Woodside, Manitoba in 1952 and farmed there until 1984. Barbara also worked at the Neepawa Bus Depot and the T. Eaton Co. in Winnipeg. They then owned and operated Pyotts West Campground at Lake of the Prairies, near Roblin, Manitoba from 1985 until 1995. Barbara was an honorary life member of the Royal Purple and a lifelong member of the Legion Ladies Auxilary. She enjoyed square dancing, fishing and curling. Barbara loved the time she shared with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons; Lyle (Shirley), Roy (Lynda) and daughters; Valerie (Colin), and Cheryle (Neil). Grandchildren; Rhonda (Joe), Trevor, Chad, Michelle, Kimberley and great grandchildren, Coleton, Kyle and Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband Mervyn, her parents, Jean and Albert Sneesby, a sister Thelma, brother Bruce and two infant siblings. The funeral ceremony will be at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Don Hudson of Knox United Church will officiate. Pallbearer will be: nephews, Grant and Bruce Sneesby, Hugh and Robert Blair and family friends, Craig Blair and Jerry Hillman. Interment will be held at the Castleavery Cemetery, Roblin, Manitoba on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at 11:00 am. Donations in memory of Mrs. Kelly may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, #100, 2629 -29th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4S 9Z9 or to the Fairview Van Fund, 1351-13th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4S6.
