Barbara Ann Hyde (nee Spraggs) 1921 - 2001, passed into eternity December 3, 2001 surrounded by loving family. You might have seen her riding around town on her three wheel bicycle in her purple helmet. Maybe you're wearing a sweater she knit for you just because you admired the ones you saw her daughters wearing. Never a day passed without her buying a Brandon Sun and a Winnipeg Sun just so she could do the crossword puzzles, and she was quite an expert at doing them. Barbara loved the Brandon Public Library and the second-hand book stores. Reading was one of her dearest pastimes, always. As we look out her kitchen window we remember Barb as a gardener. She loved to grow flowers, and we, her family loved her beet pickles! Part of the legacy she leaves to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is the lively sense of humour that she was famous for. She has passed on to all of us gifts of creativity and imagination, and hearts that desire to be as loving and generous as she was. Hank, her husband of forty-four years, grieves the passing of this woman who has been the center of his life. Through good times and bad, he chooses to remember them all as good times because his dear wife was there. Barb is the first in a family of eleven to finish her journey here with us. She leaves behind five sisters, five brothers and their families. Her immediate family are her husband, Hank; her children, Maureen, Sherri, Jorj (Sue), Marney (Gary) and Shelley (Daryl); grandchildren, Shayne (Sean), Caleb, Lloyd, Nolan, Jake, Marshall, Kelly, and Kenny; and great grandchildren, Alex and Amy Grace. Barbara, darling wife and mother, you've only just left us and we miss you already, but we're so glad your pain and struggle is finished. God himself has wiped away all tears from her eyes and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever (taken from Revelation 21). Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Barbara may be made to your local public library or the charity of your choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
