Obituary

DIXON: Arthur Louis Dixon peacefully passed away in Brandon on May 29, 2003 at the age of 77 years. Art was raised on a farm near Hamiota, MB. He completed high school and earned his Degree in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba. After farming for many years west of Hamiota, Art became the first agent for the Manitoba Crop Insurance Corporation and was promoted to area Supervisor in 1976. He retired for health reasons after 23 years at the age of 56. He handled his reduced mobility with dignity and without complaint. Family and agriculture were key in Art's life. He was a 4-H leader for Light Horse, Calf Club, and Mechanics, Director of the Light Horse Section of the Hamiota Agricultural Society, as well as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He also raised his family on the farm which he created and built over time. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his wife Alma, children Ellice Lints (Bob), Sandra Klassen (Laurel), Nola Fawcett (Guy), Carolyn Payjack (Terry), and Ward Dixon (Melissa). He will be fondly remembered by his thirteen grandchildren Amanda, Jillian and Andrew Lints, Sawyer and Danielle Klassen, Jarret, Calah and Mitchell Fawcett, Amy, Dustin, Jenna and Darren Payjack and Drew Dixon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
