DAVIS: Arthur Gerald (Jerry) - (June 08, 1916 - June 17, 2006). Jerry passed away peacefully with his family at his side, in his residence at Rideau Park Personal Care Home in Brandon. Jerry was pre-deceased by his loving wife Jean Edith (Young) and infant son Robert Gerald (Bobby). Jerry was born and raised in the Cartwright area, eventually farming till age 40 in the Griswold-Souris area. During his farming years, Jerry loved to play the fiddle for dances. He could play various musical instruments by ear. He moved to Brandon with his family in 1956, where he worked for Metropolitan Security, while the Brandon Generating Station was being built. Upon completion of the station, Jerry was asked to work for Manitoba Hydro where he was employed at the generating station for 21 years. Jerry was very mechanically inclined and maintained the "jet air breakers" at the Brandon Generating Station till his retirement at age 65. During his retirement, Jerry traveled and pursued his life-long interest of Horology (collecting and repairing watches and clocks). His love, support, good nature, and hearty laugh will be grievously missed by his son, Hugh (wife Sharen), as well as grandchildren Erin Blerot (Greg), Ian, and great granddaughter Danielle Blerot. Also surviving are several sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jerry was also pre-deceased by his father and mother, Albert and Evelyn (Gunning) Davis, as well as brothers Raymond, Jim and Bert. The funeral ceremony to celebrate Jerry's life was held on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 2:00pm at Memories Chapel with Mona Franklin officiating. Brother-in-law and Minister, Tom Young provided the tribute to Jerry's life. Jerry is resting peacefully beside his wife, Jean, in the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jerry may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 33, 824-18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7. The family wishes to recognize the compassionate care provided by the staff at Rideau Park. Special thanks to pallbearers Dan Storen, Joe Thomassen, Harvey Jackson and Bob Knight, as well as Vern Schneider and staff at Memories Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.

"The clock of life
Is wound but once
And no man has the power
To tell when the hands will stop
Of what day - or what hour
Now is the only time you have
So live it with a will,
Don't wait until tomorrow,
The hands may then be still."Memorials
