Obituary

ANDRES: Arthur "Art" Andres passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2005 at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, MB. Art was born in Laird, SK, in 1916. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Dot); their children, Lynn (Don) of Calgary, Harv (Sue) of Winnipeg, Cam (Judy) of Stettler, Alberta; grandchildren, Jill, Todd, Kelly, Brennan; and great grandchildren, Courtney and Ben.
In 1941, Art enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and retired in 1966. He was subsequently employed by Defence Construction in Portage la Prairie and Shilo, retiring at the age of 67. Art enjoyed creating stained glass art, traveling annually to Hawaii, and watching the Blue Jays. He was known for his sense of humor, which was evident even through his final days. Our thanks to the staff of the Brandon General Hospital, the Assiniboine Centre, and Rev. John Nesbitt for the care and support they provided during Art's last few weeks.
The Celebration of Art's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 18th St. N., on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. John Nesbitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Veterans' Section of the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Art may be made to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.Memorials
