SNEESBY: Argyle Curtis Sneesby passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2004, at the Neepawa Health Centre with his wife, Elizabeth and Reverend Joe Ball at his side. Argyle was born February 12, 1926, in the old Neepawa Hospital. He lived in the districts of Glenholm and Winchester with his parents, Albert and Jane Sneesby, five brothers and seven sisters. He received his education at Winchester School. Argyle moved with his family to Woodside in 1944. That fall he enlisted with the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, later transferring to the Royal Canadian Engineers where he served as a stationary engineer until 1946. Argyle returned to Neepawa in 1954 and married Elizabeth Vatcher on August 24, 1955, in the Neepawa United Church. Neepawa has been their home ever since. He worked for Neepawa Truck Service, MacDougall's Garage, and retired in 1988 after 15 years at the Neepawa & District Memorial Hospital. Those years at the Neepawa Hospital were his happiest as he enjoyed his work and fun times with his friends in all hospital departments. The hospital was always "home" to him. In 1990 he persuaded Elizabeth to start their business "Herbs for Health" and took an active part until his illness. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Charles and Bruce, sisters Thelma, Barbara, Beatrice Jean, and Darlene Pearl. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Elizabeth, "special family" Kerilyn and Kirk Pitaoulis, Janine Bamlett (fiancT Kirt MacLean), Yvonne and John Bamlett, brothers Arthur (Elma), Angus (Lorrie), and Gerald (Jackie), sisters Doris (Lorne) Buchanan, Grace and Phyllis, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Argyle was a member of the Neepawa and District Wildlife Association, and a 50 year member of the Neepawa Branch No. 23 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, curling, and golfing. He and Elizabeth enjoyed many business trips to various parts of North America, and pleasure trips to Prince Edward Island to visit friends and relatives. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, on Friday, November 26, 2004 with a Legion Honour Guard and Salute. A Memorial Service followed at the Neepawa United Church. Rev. Joe Ball officiated, assisted by Brent Buchanan. A loving tribute to "Uncle" was shared by his special girls, Kerilyn and Janine. As requested by Uncle Argyle, James and Erin Sneesby played a violin duet "Amazing Grace". Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Argyle to the Westman Dreams for Kids Foundation, 1435 Princess Avenue, Brandon, MB R7A 0R6 or to a charity of choice. Forever loved and missed by all who knew him!

CARD OF THANKS
A sincere thank you to friends and relatives for their many expressions of sympathy in the loss of my beloved Argyle. Thank you for the cards, beautiful floral tributes, food, visits, telephone calls, and offers to help. Also for donations to Westman Dreams for Kids, Neepawa Palliative Care, and other charities. A special thanks to all who attended the burial and Memorial Services, especially those from out-of-province. Thanks to Rev. Joe Ball and Brent Buchanan for their comforting words and support, to the choir and organist, to Kerilyn and Janine for their loving tribute to "Uncle", to James and Erin for their violin duet, to Argyle's buddies, Norm and Cliff, for ushering, to the UCW Unit #1 for the lovely lunch, and to Brent and staff at Memories Chapel for their caring, professional services. Sincere thanks to the Neepawa Branch No. 23 of the Royal Canadian Legion for their salute and Honour Guard at the graveside and at the church. Since Argyle entered hospital I have been overwhelmed by the compassion, concern, and love shown to both of us by Dr. Raubenheimer, Dr. Chapman, and all hospital staff. Thank you for treating us like family with respect, dignity, and love, especially the last eleven days and nights when it was our "home". Your "hugs" helped so much! Also thanks to all who visited Argyle in hospital and those who helped us when we went out for our snacks, meals, drives, etc. Those final precious times together will be treasured forever! Thanks, everyone, for your love and support. You are such caring friends! God bless you all!
Elizabeth Sneesby
