FAGG: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Archie Fagg, husband, father, grandpa and "super" grandpa, surrounded by family at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on December 30th, 2006. Archie was born at Oak River, Mb. on December 21st, 1920, where he spent his early years. In April 1941 he joined the Canadian Army serving in England and Italy before being discharged in 1945. Archie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion until his passing.

After serving overseas, Archie commenced employment at Canadian Motors on April 1st, 1946 as an automotive painter, retiring in June 1983. In October 1946 he married Ina Purkess, a union that lasted 60 years. Over his lifetime he was a big fan of many sports with baseball, hockey and golf being among his favorites. Anyone that knew him soon recognized his love for the "Yankees", a passion that was realized with a trip to New York City in 1992 to Yankee Stadium.

The most important part of Archie's life was his family, whether it be attending the grandchildren's activities or being present at family gatherings. One of his favorite lines was "If my girls are happy, I'm happy". He had a wonderful sense of humor to the time of his passing.

Archie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Ina, twin daughters, Barb Dinsdale (Corey), Bev Otley (Wayne) and four much loved grandchildren and their families. Archie (Vicky), Krysta, and Alysa Roberts; Steven (Jamie), Alan, Seth and C. J. Roberts; Jamie, Anthony and Alexander Canada; Shauna (Ryan) and Benjamin Clark. Archie is also survived by brother, Jim (Shirley) Fagg, sisters Jean Mackie and Joan Hockley, brother-in-law Tom (Edith) Purkess and sister-in-law Mabel Hodgins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Walter and Florence Fagg, brother and sister-in-law Glenn and Jean Fagg, infant sister Barbara Fagg, brothers-in-law Clarence Mackie and Fred Hockley.

At Archie's request, no service will be held. Interment will take place in the spring of 2007. Life

Life is like a game of baseball, you play it every day.
It isn't just the breaks you get,
But the kind of game you play.

So stop and look your whole team over,
And you'll find dedication there.
You're bound to be a winner with men who really care.

Your pitcher's name is courage, you need him in the game,
For faith and trust your keystone men,
The grounders they will tame.

Your catcher's name is humor. He's important to the scheme.
For your honor warming in the bull pen,
The game is always clean.

With love on the bench, you've perfection no less,
With a winning team
And joy and happiness.

This game will not be easy. There'll be trouble, there'll be strife
To make the winning runs, my boy,
For this game is played on the field of life.

So stand behind your team, my boy.
There'll be many who'll applaud.
Just remember that you're the player,
And the umpire here is God.
