HOPE: Anne Hope, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away suddenly at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 6, 2003. Anne Kamaranski was born in the RM of Woodworth, MB on July 12, 1932. She was the eldest child of Daniel Opasky and Maria Kamaranski. Anne's mother passed away from Tuberculosis, while she was very young. She, and her sisters went to live at the Maples Children's Home in Brandon. As a young girl, Anne also became ill with TB and spent some time in the Ninette Sanatorium. When she became a teenager, she went to live with Dr. & Mrs. Walter Johnston and their family at the Experimental Farm. She became an instant family member. During this time, Anne went to school for two years at Brandon Collegiate, she was fortunate to be there with her sister Pearl. They had a very strong friendship that continued forever. After high school, Anne took her nurses training at the Brandon General Hospital. From there, she went to work at Carberry Hospital. While in Carberry, she met Charles Hope and they were married on June 1, 1957. They moved to Flin Flon, MB and then eventually returned to Brandon. They bought a home on Douglas Street, and Anne remained there until March 2002. In 1965, James Robert came into her life, followed by the arrival of Linda Elizabeth-Ellen in 1968. Anne chose to remain home to raise her family, as they were the most important people in her life. The family had many wonderful times together. Anne was a fabulous cook and she loved to garden. Her passion was Bingo! She met many friends there over the years and enjoyed seeing them every week. She also loved her cats. There was always one in the house. Anne was so proud of James' and Linda's accomplishments. She was extremely proud when they both married the "Love of their Life" Due to illness (COPD) Anne had to sell her house in 2002 and move to Central Park Lodge. This pained her greatly, but she new it was for the best. Anne will be dearly missed by her son James (Karyn) Hope, of Winnipeg, and their boys, Jordan and Zachary; her daughter Linda (Jeff) McRae, of Brandon, and their boys, Tyson and Eric; her sisters, Pearl Thorpe of Calgary; Polly Hoey of Brandon; Helen Opasky & Eva Opasky, of Hamilton, ON; special mother-in-law, Mary Moore, of Carberry; special sister-in-law, Muriel Hope of Winnipeg; special brother-in-law, Arden Goodmurphy, Schreiber; and by her children's father Charles Hope of Brandon. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews as well as her many close friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her parents; brother-in-law, Douglas Hoey, and sister-in-law, Marjorie Goodmurphy. A private family graveside service was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The Ceremony to Celebrate Anne's Life was held at Memories Chapel, on April 10, 2003. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiated. Urn Bearer was her son James Hope. Honorary Pallbearers were all very special people in Anne's life; Joyce & Clarence Kaspick; Dorothy McMillan; Valerie McMillan; Susan & Alex Peters; Ken & Freda Davidson. A special tribute to Anne's Life was read by her nieces Kathy Yonda and Brenda DeGagne.
