PRICE: Anne Isabel Price - September 17, 1916 - April 16, 2006. Our Mother passed away in the early evening of Easter Sunday. Her last days were spent with her three children at her bedside. During her final days the majority of her family were able to visit and say a last farewell. Our parents celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, September 2004. Dad predeceased Mum in July 2005 at Fairview Personal Care Home and Mum continued to reside there following his death. Mum was born in Moore Park, Manitoba, the eldest of seven children, born to Rose and Thomas Johnson. She moved with the family to Brandon in 1929. While residing in Brandon she received her education, worked, met and married our father, George in 1934. When Dad joined the forces in World War II and was sent overseas, Mum had two children to care for, and as they say, she "kept the home fires burning" during the infamous war years. In spite of rationing she always managed to find the supplies necessary to make and send her coveted care packages to Dad. Following the war when the economy was compromised and "do-it-yourself" popular, Mum decided she could fix things and decorate on a shoestring and she did it well. This was the beginning of a "hobby" that lasted for years. She would buy, fix, decorate and sell a home only to do it over and over again. It did not slow her down having two more children after the war and besides being the great Mum and homemaker she was, we think she longed to be a carpenter! A born homemaker, she loved baking and took great pride in countertops covered with cinnamon buns, rolls, bread, and pies. Preserving was an art to her and she believed no shelf should have an empty space. She loved to knit and sew and in her later years, came to be known as "the queen of dishcloths" by Dad. She had the ability to churn them out as fast as she could supply the yarn. Mum took an avid interest in quilting and in hooking rugs. We all have her handiworks that serve as everlasting memories. Mum loved fishing and camping and spent many years doing just that in Manitoba and Ontario. Her camping trademark was Tupperware filled with the baking that not only kept the family happy, but provided many memories of visits from the critters including the bears in the wilderness where we camped. Last Christmas, at the age of 89, Mum made containers of shortbread for each of us, just as she did every year. Mum took a Nursing Aid course in the early 1960's and worked in several personal care homes until Dad retired in 1971. She loved to travel, and in retirement had the opportunity to travel to England with Dad, Hawaii with her sisters, Las Vegas with family, cruise to Alaska, and enjoyed many short trips as well. She had a full and busy life. Her favorite motto's were, "a job worth doing is worth doing well", and "if you want something done right, do it yourself". She did just that in all areas of her life. She was a caring and giving mother and a faithful friend. Mum is survived by her three children and our families: daughter Sis and children, Rob and Sheri (Bruce); son, Tom (Linda) and children, Josh (Alieshia), Zach (Shauna), and Tessa; son, Alf (Shelley) and children, Becky (Dan) and Sarah (Mike). She had five great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her son Ken (1962) and daughter-in-law Ethele (1984). They are survived by their daughter Georgina, Mum's first-born grandchild. Also surviving are sisters Edna Matte, Hazel Rehill and Ethel Brown, all of Brandon, and Marg Tombes of Ottawa. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Fielder, and brother, Allan Johnson. At Mum's request there has been no formal funeral. Cremation has taken place. Family members have observed a time of visitation, remembrance, and reflection. On September 15th Mom will be interred with her beloved George and a celebration of her life will follow. We offer our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the management and staff of the fourth floor of Fairview Home. They were truly kind and generous to our parents. Sincere thanks to Dr's Deong and Duncan for their ongoing care and support. We acknowledge Vern Schneider of Memories Chapel and Pre-Planning Centre for facilitating arrangements. If friends so desire a donation in memory of our Mum may be made to Fairview Home or a charity of one's choice.

She left the world knowing she was loved. Nothing in life could be a more
precious gift. She will be forever in our hearts.
