The death of Anne Louise Mawer, of Fairview Home and formerly of Alexander, widow of JohnTalmage Mawer, occurred at her residence on Friday, February 7, 2003. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Monday (tonight), February 10, 2003 from 7:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Avenue on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Len Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Anne Louise (Ridley) Mawer of Fairview Home, Brandon, formerly of the Alexander district, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, February 7, 2003. Anne was born on October 11, 1915 in Waskada, Manitoba. She grew up in Waskada, Brandon, Melita, Elva and later at Terence, Manitoba. Anne enjoyed music and met her husband, John Mawer of 59 years at a musical get together. They were married, October 15, 1938 and farmed together in the Alexander area. Anne loved gardening, sewing, knitting, quilting, baking, playing cards and scrabble, writing, reading and traveling. She enjoyed many trips with good friends and family to Texas, Mexico, Arizona, England, Ontario and British Columbia. She was a member of the Tarbolton Hospital Auxilary and the U.C.W. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Peggy (Jack) Chapman of Brandon; sons, Rodger (Anne) and Ralph (Arlee) of the R.M. of Daly. There are ten grandchildren: Sandra (Mervin) Melnychenko, Phillip (Janice) Chapman, Jan (Braden) Pilling, Barb (Todd) Chambers, Melanie (Trent) Melinchuk, Liana Mawer (Brian Hickman), Ryan (Dawn) Mawer, Doug (Colleen) Mawer, Chad and Erin Mawer. There are also twelve great grandchildren: Laura, Andrew, Angel and Jessica Melnychenko, Jade, Jasmine and Joel Chapman, Ben Pilling, Charlie and Kolby Chambers, Tyler and Brett Mawer. Anne is also survived by; her sister-in-law, Jessie Blatchford of Rivers and several nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by: her husband, John Mawer; her parents, Sarah and Barthalemeu Ridley; brother John and wife Irene Ridley; sister, Doris and husband Ray Black; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim (Florence) Mawer, Mary (Tom) Hammond, Evie (George) Hammond, May (John) Bush, Ruth (Bill) Veitch and John Blatchford. A Celebration of Anne's Life was held at Bethel Christian Assembly on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Len Smith officiated. Interment followed at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Ryan, Doug and Chad Mawer, Trent Melinchuk, Mervin Melnychenko and Phillip Chapman. Honorary pallbearers were: John and Helen Dyck, Jean Kettles, Julie Dyer, Edith Johns, Lyle and Doll Powell. Flowers are gratefully declined.
