NIELSEN: Larry Andrew "Andy", age 64 years, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at home. Born in Brandon on May 18, 1958, Andy married his teenage sweetheart, Kim in 1985 and they had two sons: Brett born in 1989 followed by Chad in 1993. Andy worked as a truss assembler first at Benco then at All-Fab. He loved woodworking and built furniture in his younger years. Just before being diagnosed with lung cancer, Andy built two small decks and a wooden sidewalk around the house. He was barely able to do so as he was so out of breath. Andy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kim; sons Brett (Jerrick) and Chad (Cathy); brothers Wayne (Debbie), Gary (Norma), Kelly, Tim (Brenda) and Jeff; sisters Debbie (Roger), Donna and Shiela (Derrick); and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Adele and Jarl Nielsen, sister Judy Larsen and nephew David Fiddler. A special thanks to Cathy Anderson for her care and compassion in the weeks before Andy's passing. The Come and Go Reception in Celebration of Andy's Life will take place at Monterey Estates Community Hall, 40 Mockingbird Drive, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Andy may be made to the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, c/o BRHC Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3
