Obituary

WOOD: The passing of Alicia Isobel Margaret Wood occurred at Hillcrest Place on Saturday, January 12, 2008. Alicia was born at Neepawa, Manitoba on May 12, 1915 to John and Jenny Wood. She attended Gordon School in Mentmore, Manitoba. Alicia resided in her own home for many years and then became one of the first residents to move into Lawson Lodge in Brandon. She later moved to Hillcrest Place where she resided for the last thirteen years. Alicia enjoyed visits from family and friends, gardening, and was quite involved in milking the cows on the farm. She was extremely fond of children, especially her numerous nieces and nephews. Alicia is survived by her two sisters-in-law: Hazel Wood of Oak Lake, Manitoba and Hazel Wood of Nanaimo, British Columbia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Jenny Wood; two brothers Arthur and William. A private family service was held at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Alicia, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 3-824 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 5B7 or to a charity of choice.
