Obituary

STEWART: Alice N. (Donald-Campbell) Stewart, 89, of Brandon passed away early Sunday, April 25th, 2008 after being transferred from Valleyview Care Centre to Brandon RHA.
Alice Noel Donald was born December 24th, 1918 in rural Sinclair, Manitoba on the family farm, the second youngest of seven children born to Christena and Stuart Donald. She took her schooling there and then graduated from the Wheat City Business College, pursuing a career in an accountant office in Brandon before marrying Wm. (Bill) Alexander Campbell of Brandon in 1942. With the arrival of a son, Donald Alexander (Sandy) Campbell in 1951, Alice became a loving mother, homemaker and companion to Bill until his death in 1975. In 1979 she married Francis Stewart with whom she enjoyed a greatly expanded life for two decades in Brandon while wintering in Hawai'i and Victoria, BC, until his passing in 1999.
Alice was a member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and the N.S.F. Club, as well as the East End Sunshine Club, the Royal Canadian Legion #3 and the Ladies Auxiliary.
Alice is survived by her son, Sandy Campbell and his wife, Joy Kelly (Fair Oaks, CA); her three grandchildren: Alexander Campbell (Ottawa, ON), Charlotte Campbell (Vancouver, BC) and Jacqueline ("Jake") Kelly-Campbell (Fair Oaks, CA); her younger sister, Jean Stewart (Winnipeg, MB) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Bill Campbell and Francis Stewart, and her brother John (1957), sisters: Margaret "Peg" (1978), Mildred (1995), Elsie (1998) and most recently, the eldest, Florence (2008).
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, May 6th at 2:00pm with Rev. Paul Sakasov officiating. A private family interment will follow at Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Alice may be made to St. Andrews Church, 361 Russell St., Brandon, MB, R7A 4M3.
