Obituary

Alice Helen Brandon passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at her residence. Alice was born on August 10, 1919 in Brandon, Manitoba to James and Helen Connon. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Alice lived in the country with her son until she moved to Lion's Manor, where she enjoyed being close to family and friends. Alice is survived by her son, Stewart; daughter, Jo-Ann Balmer; grandchildren, Susan (James) Funke, Manse Balmer and Bryan Balmer; and great grandchildren, Megan and Amy Funke. She is also survived by her sisters, Gladys Wilson, Margaret Nadler, Primrose Durnin and Irene (Les) Wilkie; sisters-in-law, Eileen Connon, Jean Connon and Hazel (Larry) Howland; and brother-in-law, Wil (Donna) Higham. Alice was pre-deceased by her parents and brothers, James Mearns, Keith Connon and John Connon. She will be dearly missed by all. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, on Friday, December 14, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. A time of Visitation will be held prior to the Ceremony. Arlene Robertson, Pastoral Associate of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. A Graveside Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Alice to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 824 - 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 5B7.
