Alba Louise Fawcett (nee Gadke) passed away peacefully at her residence, Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home at Brandon, Manitoba in her ninety year, . Alby was born May 7, 1910 on the 7th line of Mornington, near Milverton, Ontario. At the age of 10 her family moved to a farming community, 4th line, Minto Township, near Palmerston, Ontario. On September 27, 1933 she married William Irvin Fawcett. Together they farmed on a 4th generation farm. They had three sons, Earl, surviving in Brandon, Gordon and Barry, both pre-deceased. In 1948 the Fawcett family sold their farm and moved west to Brandon, Manitoba. Alby's husband, Irvin passed away the following year in 1949, after a lengthy journey with asthma. Alby's life in Brandon was spent primarily as a landlady, making many friends and acquaintances over the years. Upon retiring, Alby was able to fulfill on of her life long ambitions and toured England and Scotland.
Pallbearers were Sarah Wiebe, Kathy Adolph, Olive Tod, Jack Mackie and Bert Delmage. Donations in memory of Alby may be made to the BGH Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 2B3.
Funeral arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
A service will be held in Palmerston, Ontario where following the service she will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Irvin.
