Obituary

STREVENS: Albert Edward Strevens, passed away with his family by his side, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg on April 25, 2007. Albert was born at Marquis, Saskatchewan on May 25, 1936. He attended William Grayson School, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Peacock Technical Moose Jaw high school. In his early years, Albert delivered groceries on his bike. He then worked for the P.F.R.A. in many departments for thirty-nine years. On August 13, 1966 Albert married Pat Antill. They resided in Moose Jaw until he was transferred to Regina, then moved to Lumsden, then transferred to Brandon where he resided until retirement. After retiring, Albert spent a few years growing vegetables for the Brandon Farmers Market. He was an avid Wheat Kings season ticket holder. For many years, Albert bred and showed English Springer Spaniels under the registered kennel name "Nimshi" which achieved many championship dogs. Albert will be lovingly remembered by his wife Pat; daughters Melanie and Susie; son Kelly. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Deb (Dan) Temple of Calgary, Alberta and Geraldine Schultz of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; brother-in-law Rick Antill of Calgary, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his father Nimshi John "Jack" and mother Gladys; brothers, Vern (Alice) and Fred (Doreen); father and mother-in-law Ernie and Mary Antill and brother-in-law Glen Schultz. The Ceremony to Celebrate Albert's Life was at Memories Chapel on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. The Rev. Barbara Jardine officiated. A private family interment was held at the Madford Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Albert may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association - Westman Region, B-727 10th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4G7.
