Obituary

LUCIER: The death of Albert Benoit Lucier occurred at his residence, Dinsdale Personal Care Home, Brandon on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Albert was born at Nipawin, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of four children born to Eugene and Annie Lucier. When he was five or six years old his family moved to San Clara, Manitoba. He attended school at the Walker School. Albert's dad farmed and trapped in the area. During the war time Albert helped out on the farm. In the early 1950's Albert moved to the Benito area where he took up carpentry and bricklaying. Albert helped build many buildings around Benito, Swan River, Minitonas and Roblin. Albert later moved to Edmonton where his brother August lived. He spent a few years in Edmonton before returning to Brandon, Manitoba where he retired. Albert moved into the Dinsdale home on August 4, 2000. Albert is survived by his brother August (Vera) Lucier of Duncan, BC, nephews: Matthew and Margaret Peech of Brandon and Moses and Tonia Peech of Squamish, BC; nieces: Francis Patterson of Kamsack, SK and Chris Leshchyshyn of Shoal Lake, MB. Albert is also survived by nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother in 1984, father in 1969, a sister in 2003 and a niece in 1955. A graveside ceremony to celebrate Albert's life will be held at St. Claire Parish Cemetery, San Clara, Manitoba on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Fr. Jose Cabral will officiate. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Albert to the Dinsdale Personal Care Home, 510 - 6th Street, Brandon MB R7A 3N9.
