GELSTHORPE: Albert William Gelsthorpe of Rivers, Manitoba passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the Riverdale Health Centre, Rivers, Manitoba. Albert was born on March 28, 1928 in Montreal, Quebec son of Percy and Hazel Gelsthorpe. He was raised by his grandparents in Rivers and completed his early education there. He then went to Montreal to further his education. Albert was a founding member of Anchor Industries and completed his working years at Hamilton & Allen. Albert enjoyed tinkering in his shop, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed many winters in Indio, California. He is survived by: his wife, Mary; daughters, Brenda (Clay) Therien, and Jo-Ann Lombaert; stepchildren, Cheryl (Brian) Chambers, Debra (Brian) Ford, Randy (Sandra) Cumming, Richard (Lori) Cumming, and Linda (Tony) Hoeppner. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Bruce Gelsthorpe, and sister, Marion Gelsthorpe. He was predeceased by his first wife, Maretta.
