WICKS: Ada Wicks (nee Smalley) passed away peacefully at Dinsdale Personal Care Home on Monday, October 15, 2007 at the age of 104. Ada was born in Beverly, York, England to Annie and Tom Smalley. She came to Canada in 1920 and settled in the Kenton district. Later, Ada married George Wicks in 1928. They had two daughters, Hazel and Joyce. Ada is survived by one daughter Joyce Stanley; grandchildren Doug (June) Stanley of Brandon, Don (Julie) Stanley of Dauphin, Manitoba, Wayne (Sharon) Stanley of Cloverdale, British Columbia, Lois (Doug) Wark, Jodi (Craig) McKinney, Ken (Alberta) Roberts all of Brandon; eighteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ada was predeceased by her parents Annie and Tom Smalley; husband George Wicks; daughter Hazel Roberts; three brothers William, of London, England, Joe and Harold; sister-in-law Ruth Smalley; sons-in-law Gerald Stanley and Edmund Roberts, all of Brandon. Ada enjoyed being around her grandchildren and like to knit, crochet and read. Ada went to Dinsdale home in 1993. Cremation has taken place. A graveside ceremony was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 19, 2007. Rev. David Cathcart of Knox United Church officiated.
