HILDEBRAND: The death of Abram Hildebrand, of Brandon, occurred in the city on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Abe was born at Lowe Farm, Manitoba on December 14, 1927. He was raised on a farm near Rose Farm and worked as a farm hand by Lowe Farm. He moved to Brandon in 1955 where he started in the carpentry trade. Abe was employed with Parkdale Builders in the late 1950's until 1991. As a carpenter, he specialized in basement foundations and framing. Abe enjoyed any games or activities involving his family. Golfing with his son, Ken and brothers yielded many happy hours of enjoyment and stories. He also was exceptionally good at the game of crokinole and also enjoyed cribbage. Abe leaves his wife, Olga (nee Derksen) and children; Connie (Doug), Ken (Bev), Karen (Dave) and his grandsons, Grant, Blair and Derrick. He also is survived by, five brothers and two sisters. Abe was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. The Ceremony to Celebrate Abe's Life was held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 1:30 pm. with Pastor Jake Krahn officiating. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery. Urn bearer was Derrick Hildebrand and honorary pallbearers were Grant and Blair Moore.
