Our Philosophy
We believe there is no other service that requires as much
commitment to pleasing the customer as ours does. When you
plan a funeral, you want everything to be perfect, and we
believe it should be: as a final tribute to a person much
loved, everything should be carried out according to your
wishes. We understand the importance of selecting the right
flowers and the right music, readings from favourite texts,
and using the services of a preferred clergy person and funeral
director. After all, these final memories will be cherished
for a lifetime.
But while we believe every service should be perfect, that’s
not to say that any two services should be exactly alike.
After all, no two people are the same, why should their services
be?
At Memories Chapel, we understand that it’s a person’s
individuality and unique qualities that make him or her special.
As a final tribute to someone dearly loved, a funeral should
reflect the person being remembered. If that means conducting
the service at lakeside, or having a soloist sing a special
song, so be it. Whatever the request, we believe that the
answer should always be yes. The service should reflect the
life of the person being remembered, and tradition can be
whatever you make it.
Our Pledge To Serve
Sometimes life gives us fair warning of the passing away
of a loved one, and allows us to prepare ourselves for the
event. At other times, however, life can catch us off our
guard and leave us immobilized with grief and a terrible sense
of loss.
If arranging a funeral during your time of mourning becomes
a burden, we can help. We’re prepared to take care of
each and every detail, if necessary, from flowers to reception,
from cemetery plot to soloist. If you don’t want to
be troubled with the details at a difficult time, leave them
to us, that’s what we’re here for.
We take pride in our commitment to instill in every service
a sense of dignity, compassion, and respect. Our goal is to
make your difficult time a little bit easier.
Memories Chapel
When the directors of Memories Chapel set out to build their
new funeral home in 1998, they drew upon their combined fifty
years of service to their community to put together a facility
that would meet the needs of the area, both today and in the
years to come.
Memories Chapel and facilities are located at 330 - 18th
Street North in Brandon, Manitoba. Our facilities are wheelchair
accessible with everything located on one level for easy access
to everyone. Our location is also easy for out-of-town friends
to locate with a spacious parking area and a covered concourse
for family parking.
One of our goals in creating a new funeral home was to create
an environment where those who come through our doors feel
comfortable and well cared for. We believe we have accomplished
this through our experienced staff and beautifully decorated
facility.
The large chapel area has seating for 200 friends and family
members, and can be expanded to accommodate up to 250 (in
the overflow area).
We also have a beautifully decorated reception facility for
gatherings or luncheons (prepared in our modern kitchen by
our catering service) following the service.
Our main reception area is decorated with antique furniture
and a gas fireplace, and allows for friends and family to
gather in a comfortable environment.
We have a private visitation room for viewing, with comfortable
seating, with the flexibility of making the area separated
for those who wish to come and mourn with the family but do
not wish to be part of the viewing.
We have two separate conference rooms that have seating around
charming antique tables for consultations or gathering of
the family for prayers or time of respite prior to the service.
